On Saturday night, we attended London Fashion Week's ARGENTINA IN LONDON - Aynié & La Rando Present AW22. Warmly welcomed by the designer's PR teams, a flow of young Argentines and London Fashion Week elite filled the spacious, warmly lit rooms of the Argentine Ambassador's residence on Belgrave Square. Curated by creative director Sol Mark, two female designers' collections for AW22 were displayed to showcase the best of Argentinian design with brands Aynié and La Rando. The following day, I had the pleasure of meeting both designers at their collective space at the Argentine Embassy to find out more about their collections.

Aynié
The first collection is from Aynié, a beautiful accessories brand by 26 year old Clara Aynié from Buenos Aires. Clara, the face behind her brand Aynié, is the great granddaughter of the founder of renowned saddlery Talabartería Aynié where her family has been making leather saddles for over 100 years. This is how Clara has come to know and love leather as a material and following her studies in fashion design, she had a vision to harness her family's heritage and forge a new path for herself by creating her label Aynié.

Working from the saddlery workshop in Buenos Aires, Clara has developed a modern collection of handmade bags and accessories inspired by traditional local crafts and leatherwork. Her pieces are made of three primary materials - woven cotton and soft lambskin and calfskin leather. The collection is offered in three timeless colours - Ivory, Red and Black. The collection starts at $250 and international delivery is offered. These statement pieces will enhance any wardrobe and offer great value for money for the craftsmanship and materials that make up these unique, fashionable accessories.

La Rando
Alongside Aynié, we were introduced to womenswear brand La Rando, by Gala Elman. Gala is a wonderful person with a wealth of professional experience behind her. She has worked as an architect most of her career as well as running Classic and Now alongside her husband, a furniture manufacturing business producing Bauhaus and Modernist replicas of iconic pieces, before launching her womenswear brand La Rando. She is now a fashion designer in her own right and has created a collection which marries modern feminine silhouettes with cutting-edge design.

Gala has taken her experience in manufacturing leading large teams of people and channelled it into her womenswear brand. Gala is a stylish and professional woman with an eye for detail. Her predominantly leather pieces are timeless, effortlessly modern and beautifully constructed. The style of the clothes is young and fresh but in a way that could dress women of all ages. A closer look at her pieces reveals a wealth of fine details such as leather ties at the wrists, a buckle on the back of a sage green leather trench and adjustable leather straps over an open back.

The collection is made up of single statement pieces from dresses and coats to two-piece sets of trousers, tops and jackets, in a dark colour palette dotted with white linens. It is multi-dimensional and interchangeable - many pieces can be worn together. Gala explains that she has designed the collection so that it can be worn from day to night by changing from one piece to another or dressing up or down depending on your mood. It is easy to see how these fabulous pieces could fit into a woman's wardrobe, and marry with the individual's own unique style.
Gala plans to expand her visibility in Europe and introduce her collection to stores in the UK and beyond. For now, you can find her collection at La Rando Store.
